These are books that I have read throughout my life that made a major impact on my life and my reading habits. I won't go into great detail about how the influenced me because I am a firm believer that each book will impact someone differently. I will, however, list the ages I read them. I highly recommend any of them and probably have copies if anyone would like to borrow them. Even though I endorse these titles, do not read them just for that reason. I believe that a book is chosen and read when it is meant to be. It will have the best impact when you feel the need to read it and you cannot force it to influence your beliefs any more than it will. So, bibliophile rant complete, here is my list.
1. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott (4th Grade)
2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (7th Grade)
3. The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George (Sophomore Year of College)
4. Poetry by William Yates (Sophomore Year of College)
5. The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran (Sophomore Year of High School)
6. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (8th Grade)
7. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (5th Grade)
8. Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (Junior Year of High School)
9. Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky (Junior Year of College)
10. Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan (Current)
